Max Mason

Max Mason is a London-based writer, director and producer, and the founder of Chalice Films.
His debut short, Their War, played 15 festivals, won 14 awards and has passed 450,000 views online. Since then he has co-produced the RTS award-winning short Maximus and produced the comedy pilot Side Hustle. He wrote, produced and directed a proof of concept for Strictly Morris, now in development as a feature.
Alongside his own work, Max has built a career in large-scale film and television. He started out in Los Angeles as a director’s assistant on projects for Hulu and TV4, before moving into production on major UK features and HETV including Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Dumbo, 1917 and HBO’s Watchmen. He has worked on four seasons of Netflix’s Bridgerton, starting in the production office before becoming production manager of the second unit on Season 4 and, most recently, directed the 2nd Unit on six episodes of Season 5.
